What is Reiki
Reiki is the Japanese word for universal life-force energy.
This particular form of accessing life-force energy is called “The Usui System of Natural Healing” (Usui Shiki Ryoho).
It is an ancient method believed to have originated in Tibet, rediscovered at the end of the 19th century and brought to Japan by Dr Mikao Usui.
Reiki:
- is Universal Life Energy.
- exists in all living things.
- is Unconditional Love.
- is a gently hands on healing modality.
- healing takes place on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels.
- bypasses the symptom and goes directly to the cause of the ill-ness/dis-ease.
- helps us find inner peace and balance.
- gets us in touch with our ‘Higher Self”.
- healing session is done fully clothed.
- may be experienced as heat, cold or even tingling sensations in the body.
- is relaxing.
- is completely safe as the body only absorbs as much energy as it needs.
- Can be used by itself and serves well in support of other healing modalities, both orthodox and alternative.
- is not a religion or cult.
