MY DREAM COMES TRUE!
I have wanted to visit Peru and Lake Titicaca for a long time, even before Shirley McLain's book "Out on a Limb" came out, talking about her amazing experiences in the Sacred valley of Peru. I was never drawn to travel with a group, until early 2009 when I was talking to Ashtara, profound Astrologer and Healer. She mentioned she was taking a group of people, which she had been doing since 2000, to peru and Bolivia. We were all women interested in Astrology, Sacred Sites, ceremonies and also being involved in humanitarian children's projects in Peru and Bolivia. I signed up immediately and I travelled to Peru and Bolivia from Australia with 6 amazing women in Sept/Oct 2009.
While Ashtara and I were in Chile, prior to the tour starting, she received an email from a South African woman, who had been staying at the same place each year, but she had discovered this gem called Paz y Luz in Pisac, Sacred Valley, Peru. It was suggested to us to check out for possible future trip's accommodation. We contacted the owner of Paz y Luz, Diane Dunn, author of CUSCO The Gateway to Inner Wisdom and set a date that we would visit Paz y Luz on our way to Pisac.
When we called in Diane and I had an immediate connection and when she found out that I was a healer she offered me 3 months as a resident healer. I was honoured, but that wasn't an option at the time as I still had a successful bookkeeping business in Australia. That day we visited the ruins of Pisac and I had profound visions and knew from within that I had had many life experiences here and that it was my spiritual home. I just couldn't figure out how to be able to live, study spanish and the ancient Andean Wisdoms in the Sacred Valley of Peru.
Taking all these magnificent memories back to Australia, leaving part of my heart behind. I had made some really strong connections here through Teresa and Fredy Conde from Andean Journeys in Peru and Rosse-Mary, her brother and Eduardo (Archeologist/Elder/Healer) from Andean Dimensions in Bolivia. It was quite challenging to settle back into the "normal" routine. Although I still enjoyed the bookkeeping and the contact with my clients, there was something missing. Diane had mentioned that she was coming to Australia in March 2010 to teach the Munay-Ki in which I was very interested. I put the feelers out to the healers and teachers on my database and within days I had 12 people committed. I wrote Diane that I was happy to host her and that we would be in my usual teaching place called "The Sanctuary" or "True Blue Hospitality", which was on the mountain side overlooking the ocean. I knew both elements were needed as part of the teachings. There also happened to be a lovely long natural pool.
In the mean time I decided to do an advanced ThetaHealing course called World Relations in february and we looked at every possible resentment/grudge/judgement to any country, tribe, religion etc. On the final day (it was a 5 day course) we looked at any regrets still.
While we were in Peru our group who had set up a foundation to set up an orphanage and an esoteric school, where the ancient andean teachings would also be taught, had a look at a property and it nearly seemed ideal and the owner wanted to co-operate.
We had put a fair bit of energy into it with meetings, planning, emails to and fro. and then the floods happened in that area of Peru and the group felt that financially we couldn't carry this through and we pulled our energy from the project. This happened while I was doing this 5 days course and my reaction was "Not again" and then i realised that my whole life I have worked towards getting everyone else's dream come true. "Now it's your turn", I heard, but you've got to clear this "contract" you've taken on. I used my ThetaHealing skills to clear the contract and felt much lighter.
Diane and I stayed in touch inregards to the structure etc. of the Munay-Ki workshop. In one of those messages two days after I finished my ThetaHealing workshop Diane mentioning they needed a manager urgently. I replied "what does that entail?" and when I received her reply within minutes I found myself saying YES to it. It just felt so right.
Then the "fun" started. Finding replacement bookkeepers for my clients and train them, so that there would be a smooth handover went with such ease, as both girls are gems, over a period of 6 weeks. Then the sorting and packing. Due to the workload that, the packing ansd sorting, didn't happen so smoothly. It tested even my closest girlfriends for patience and time. I needed their help and by gosh did they help with sorting, throwing, selling and storing my stuff. In the end at the garage sale I just handed everything that was left to a guy, who makes it his business to make money out of other people "unwanted" belongings. He gave me $10 or $20, can't remember to take everything that was left. I took a deep breath and said YES again with a tiny pang in my heart, when hundreds of good books, CD's other bits and pieces went, but when the carport was empty an hour later it was such a feeling of freedom.
On the saturday we moved the rest of my stuff into storage, the boys did an amazing job, as did the cleaning lass and my beautiful gardner, who saved me from loosing anything from my bond. That night we had a stunning farewell chant with musicians coming from Tomewin(on the border Qld-NSW) and a total of 29 of us chanted and danced to our hearts content and then shared a nice meal. It was a night definitely to be repeated one day. If you're on facebook, connect with me and check the photos out.
I spent Sunday and Monday with close friends doing some final sorting of paperwork and on Monday morning 26th April, 2010 I was driven to the Gold Coast Airport and had a very teary fairwell with my close buddies. Flew to Sydney, stayed overnight and met up with another one of my close girlfriends, which was awesome and then it was off to Peru. Weel, that;s what I thought at least. Flight problems to NZ - the departure board in Sydney actually said that the flight was cancelled. My heart missed a couple of beats, but OK otherwise. But, no duty-free shopping because of that. We had to virtually run to catch the plane to Auckland and then on to Santiago. There we had a long wait of 9 hours, but connecting with a few fellow Aussies and a good book made the time go reasonably fast. Then on to Lima, the flight arrives at 11PM, so i had a B & B organised via Diane for US$40 including transfers to and from airport and breakfast. let me know if you want this contact. It's not one of the nicest areas in town, but beats paying $150-$200 for hotels 5 minutes closer.
I caught the midday flight to Cusco and was picked up there by a Larry, taxi driver with a smile and a smidgen of english. We use him a lot at Paz y Luz. On arrival, I was taken to my room and Diane and Christer shared a yummy roast chicken dinner with me.
And then it was me on my own in my room and that's 3.5 weeks ago now and it feels so much like home. I have my shower in the morning after listening to a nice chanting CD a friend of mine made for my farewell, get dressed and walk to the office with my laptop at 7.45 and my day begins. Check on emails for new reservations, follow up on them, make sure that rooms are ready for guests, attend to guests needs and by 9.30 I am ready for breakfast. I check on the progress of my "Casita" that's being re-built. I make changes to our website when needed, I call taxis in my best spanish and maybe do some Reiki, ThetaHealing or Aromatouch treatments for the clients. On my days off I've been going to Cusco, the nearest big city, for a $1.50 in a collectivo or bus for 25Km. Why would you own a car? And, I've found a Network Chiropractor in Cusco. My body said YES then.
On sundays Pisac's famous markets attract lots of tourists, but the markets are on every day and the fruit and veges taste like real fruit and veges. I'm eating far healthier here than in Oz. Walk lots, as I don't have a vehicle. I have been thinking about getting a bicycle, but nay! rather walk and when you have your shopping bags on the way home, some of the cabbies already know me and ask Paz y Luz? Yes, please for $1.
And there you have it, a long story to see how just by saying YES to your dreams (and releasing some blocks) things happen.
Yes, I miss a few things in Oz, like having long phone calls/visits with my friends, going to the Arts Centre for a good movie with them, followed by either a meal or just a great coffee and cake, but all in all I am very happy and at peace here. Really feel like I am living in the moment. So, my advice to you, look at your dream/passion and say YES.
Much love, hugs and many Blessings to All of my dear friends, clients and students. I sit in gratitude for knowing you all.
Untill we meet again, either here in Peru or in Oz.
